Alex Berdysheff (b. 1964, Tbilisi) is known for expressive paintings that combine distorted forms, abstract structures, and layered texture. He graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Fine Arts in graphic design and completed a post-graduate exchange at the Glasgow School of Art in 1990.
His work moves across physical and symbolic boundaries, suggesting tension between matter and perception and questioning the stability of the visible world. Paintings from this period are marked by energy, movement, and a strong tactile surface.
Berdysheff has exhibited at institutions including the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh, the Central House of Artists in Moscow, and the Georgian National Museum. His work is held in private collections internationally.
